Kibale national park is one of the national parks in Uganda that are well recognized because of the wonderful features and nature that this national park is holding for the well being of national parks in Uganda.

The park is located in the south western part of Uganda and is found just outside the city of fort port which is made up of dense tropical rainforests within which enormous numbers of primates are found dwelling in, and therefore in case you can’t afford the lavish cost of mountain gorilla trekking, then all your problems are no more when you are at kibale national park because you will instead be visiting one of the five habituated groups of chimpanzees that are found in the park which is  a very worthy substitute.

Kibale  park has 351 tree species,  and some of these trees rise to over 55 meters high accompanied by the long term that they have spent in the park which is over 200 years of existence.

The park, varying altitude has enabled it to support different types of habitats and these are simply ranging from wet tropical forest that is found on the fort portal plateau and encountered with the woodland and Savannah on the rift valley floor.

The park is also in turn one of the best safari destinations in Africa that one should not take for granted which is well known for the great activity of chimpanzee trekking in Uganda this is because kibale contains one of the most beautiful and unique chimpanzee species accompanied with the widely varying tracts of tropical forest that can not be found in any part of Uganda expect kibale national park.

The park inhabits a big number of wildlife forest animals in its premises but most especially in kibale national park. There is the 13 species of primates that are coupled with chimpanzees.

According to Uganda wildlife authority, the density and diversity of primates that are found in kibale national park is recorded as the highest population in the whole of Africa. Since kibale is well known for its 13 species and one these being the chimpanzees that are our closest relatives, kibale‘s 1450 chimpanzees totally indicate Uganda’s biggest population of this threatened primates. In addition to the above, the park is a home to the uncommon L’Hoest’s monkey but still as well as East Africa’s biggest population of the endangered red colobus monkey.  The great black and white colobus, red tailed monkey, the blue monkey, olive baboon, grey cheeked mangabey, bush baby and pottio .

Kibale national park, is also Africa’s foremost research site and all the researchers mainly focus on the chimpanzees and other primates that are found in kibale and this greatly helped the management of the park to know how and monitor the wild animals. This is in order to keep all of them in good condition, and also to conserve the national park.

Kibale national park also adjoins Queen Elizabeth national park to the south and this has lead to the creation of 18 kilometers long corridor which is also part of wildlife which is also between ishasha, the national park and sebitoli in the northern part of kibale national park. This has been an implication that the park considers wildlife more than any other thing.

Kibale national park is also a home of over 325 varieties of bird species, including six of them that are native to the Albertine rift valley destination for example dusky crimsonwing, black -capped apalis, blue – headed sunbird, collared apalis, red -faced woodland warbler and purple -breasted sunbird. Other kibale special species include the green breasted pitta, African pitta, black bee-eater, Abyssinian ground thrush, yellow spotted nicator, little greenbul, black -eared ground thrush, along with the crowned eagle.

There are also other mammals that are found in kibale national park though these are very hard to see moving around the premises of the park and some of these animals includes buffalos, leopards, bush pig elephant, and duiker. A net viewer could also see amphibians, reptiles and colorful variety of butterflies that make the grounds of the park totally colorful and it’s environment be filled with nature.

Kibale national park has also got a good climate that can favor and enable all the ingoing activities to take place without any inconvenience concerning wildlife activities.

Kibale national park has also got different types of wonderful people and mostly the area is taken up by Batoro and Bakiga, but what is interesting is that the Batoro are the native to the region of kibale national park and while the Bakiga are just immigrants from the thickly population in the southwestern part of the great country of Uganda. The park is the best place that will bring you closer to nature and strengthen the magical bond between you and the wilderness of kibale because of its ecological environment that is full of pure green trees and free from the disorganized sounds.
