Arcadia Cottages
Arcadia cottages are located in Lake Mburo national park in western Uganda not very far from the capital city Kampala, the lodge is just located two kilometers from Rwonyo the parks headquarters and situated at the edge of the magnificent lake Mburo.
The rooms are extremely comfortable with panoramic views of nature from the inside, the lodge also organizes lunch boat cruises for its visitors on this trip, and tourists can view crocodiles and hippos and spectacular sights.
Arcadia lodge also contains an onsite restaurant serving both local and international cuisine meals the dining area gives clear views of the lake sometimes hippos are seen here at night while the well-stocked bar provides variety of drinks tourists can choose from.
The cottages are eight in number and all self-contained with hot and cold water showers well-furnished and skillfully built for visitors comfort, a fire place is setup every evening with sundowners served for visitors to sit around the camp and enjoy every bit of the sun setting in Africa and also see some animals roaming around the lodge premises.

Lake Mburo national park is the only place in Uganda where tourists can view impalas and zebras in very big numbers, the park also boasts with other animals like; hyenas, zebras, waterbucks, reedbucks, warthogs, buffaloes, crocodiles, and leopards also often seen game drives can take place at any time of the day and sometimes at night hours.
Horse riding safaris
Lake Mburo national park is the only National park in Uganda offering horse riding safaris here you can get closer to wildlife than while in a car, the horse riding safaris embark from Mihingo lodge and the horses are managed by a Kenyan man who has worked with horses for over fifteen years.
Boat cruise
Lake Mburo national park comprises of five lakes and the main being Lake Mburo where you can do a boat cruise from and come close to water animals like crocodiles and hippos the onsite restaurant also offers tourists with refreshments after a boat cruise from the magnificent lake.
Nature guided walks
Nature guided walks at lake mburo can be done at most times of the day but the best time would be in the morning hours as you can encounter hippos going back to the water and hyenas back to their dens, the birds are also very common in morning hours.
Birding
Lake Mburo national park boasts with over 350 bird species and the best place to do birding is the small but magical Rubanga forest some of the bird species here are bateleur,white headed barbet, red faced barbet, African kingfisher, African fin foot and many others.
