Game drive is the major activity in Lake Mburo national park where tourists get a chance to explore the park in a comfortable pop up safari vehicle. Game drives in the park can either be done in the morning or in the afternoon with a professional driver guide who will help you to spot animals like elands, buffaloes, warthogs, zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, topi, impalas, oribi, bushbucks, predators like hyenas and leopards.

Best time to visit Lake Mburo national park

Lake Mburo national park can be visited anytime throughout the year though the best time is during the dry season also known as the peak season in the months of June, July, August, September, December, January and February. During the dry season animals will gather around the water bodies to drink water and vegetation in the park with be thin due to little rainfall which helps you to clearly view abundant wildlife animals.

How to get to Lake Mburo national park

Lake Mburo national park is located in western Uganda and can be accessed by road transport means where by you will drive from Kampala/ Entebbe via Masaka to the park headquarters which takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive in a 4 WD safari vehicle.

The park can also be accessed by air transport means whereby you will book charter or scheduled flights from Entebbe international airport or Kajjansi airfield to Mbarara airstrip and then connect to the park headquarters by road.
