2 Days Uganda Chimpanzee Trekking Safari takes you to Uganda’s primitive capital famously known as Kibale Forest National Park a home to over 1500 individual Chimpanzees and this makes it a renowned place with the highest concentration of Chimps in Africa. Kibale forest national park is found in the western Uganda and is known as a primate heaven where you can be able to see other 13 primate species and these include; Chimps, Coppery tailed money, Black and White colobus monkeys, Vervet monkey, Red tailed monkey, Olive Baboon, Thick tailed bush baby, Lesser Galago, L’Hoest Monkey few to be mentioned. This park is also a birder’s haven with over 370 bird species providing a life adventure for bird viewing enthusiasts. Other species like forest Elephants, beautiful butterflies can also be seen here. Besides Kibale Forest National Park, Chimpanzee tracking can also be done in Budongo forest and in Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park

Travel to Kibale Forest National Park: Depending on your point of location, our professional driver guide will pick you, brief you about the 2 Days Uganda Chimpanzee tracking. Then proceed to western part of Uganda to Kibale forest national park with picnic lunch, you will go through several towns of Mityana, Mubende, Kyenjonjo and Fort portal towns. The journey is truly amazing with panoramic views of banana, tea plantations, scenic landscape and also see farmers digging to their lands and this can be a great opportunity for photographs. Arrive at the park, check in at the lodge, relax.

Later on, go for a swamp walk in Bigodi ,a best place in Kibale for bird viewing and here you will be able to see variety of beautiful bird species such as webbed toes ,hornbills ,flycatchers ,Waxbills, Weavers ,Cuckoos ,great blue turaco ,White browed coucal ,Ross’s turaco ,grew backed fiscal ,African paradise flycatcher ,Papyrus Gonolek many more as you continue to walk through the swamp many primate species can be sighted by you such as Red tailed monkey, Red Colobus Vervet monkey ,Mangabey ,animal species like Sitatunga ,Bushbuck ,pig   ,you can as well visit the community around the park and interact with Bukojo people enjoy their interesting traditional dance among others. Return back to the lodge. Dinner and an Overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Back to Kampala 

Chimpanzee Trekking: After morning breakfast, you will be given packed lunch box and your driver guide will drive you to Kanyanchu Visiting center for briefing about dos and don’ts of Chimpanzee while in the forest. After briefing, you will meet the ranger guide to lead you into the forest to track the chimps. An experience which can last 2 to 7 hours tracking, depending on their location. As you track through the forest you will have another chance of seeing other primates like Blue monkeys, evet monkeys, Black and white monkeys, Red colobus monkeys, Coppery tailed monkeys among others. Once, you locate them, you will be given 1 hour to spend with them, watch on how they fight, feed, slap trees, swing from branch to branch many more. After enjoying Chimpanzee tracking experience, our driver will drive you back to the lodge check out to the lodge, return back to Kampala to be dropped at your hotel or Entebbe Airport to catch up your flight back home.
