7 Days Best of Uganda Safari
enjoy a 7 days best of Uganda safari entailing wildlife experience at Lake Mburo national park, later to Queen Elizabeth National Park for another wildlife tour and finally head to Bwindi forest national park for a gorilla trekking experience
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
Meet our company representative/guide and transfer to Lake Mburo; you will have a stopover at the Equator where you will take time to take pictures and perform an experiment, thereafter proceeding to enter the park with great views of big herds of zebras, impalas, elands, giraffes, topi among others.
The park is also an excellent place for bird viewing. Dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo lodge (Luxury), Kigarama wilderness lodge (mid-range), or Eagles Nest Lodge (Budget)
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise
After an early breakfast, explore the park’s beauty with a morning game drive in search of animals that can be found like the zebras, elands, impalas, buffaloes, giraffes, topi, oribi, waterbucks, warthogs
Later connect to your lodge for lunch before heading for your boat trip on Lake Mburo to explore water animals, including Nile crocodiles, hippos and different bird species like the Fish Eagle and the rare shoebill stork. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight stay as above
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast, drive out of the park to embark on Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive early afternoon and connect for your afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel where you will get an opportunity to see a number of bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos and Nile crocodiles.
Later connect to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Elephant plains Lodge (luxury), Elephant hub Lodge (midrange) or Kazinga wilderness camp (budget).
Day 4: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi
After an early breakfast, explore the park’s beauty with a morning game drive in search of animals that can be found like the buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, the tree-climbing lions, leopards and different antelope species.
After 2-3 hours game drive, have lunch and drive out of the park to connect Bwindi forest national park. Arrive in the evening and connect to your lodge to relax, dinner and stay overnight at Mahogany Springs lodge (luxury)/ Buhoma Haven lodge (midrange) or Buhoma community rest camp (budget)
Day 5: Gorilla trekking experience
Have a very early morning breakfast and drive to find the park offices for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking by the park warden, then connect to the forest to search for the gorillas.
The time taken is usually between 2 and 7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range.
After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your ranger guide will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge for a restful evening. Have dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge as above.
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi—boat trip
After morning breakfast, you will transfer to the Kabale district to Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa, with a depth between 44 m and 900 m and a width of about 7 to 25 km.
Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi with great scenic views, connect for a boat ride where you will be able to explore the 29 islands, view the terraced farmlands, bird species, learn about the great history of the islands, take pictures among others.
Dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia Cottages (mid-range) or Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort (budget)
Day 7: Transfer to Kampala
Wake up early, have breakfast and proceed for your transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe for a 7-8 hour drive, en route, with lunch in Mbarara town and at the Equator. Arrive at either hotel/connect to Entebbe Airport for your evening flight back home.
