How Similar is Lake Mburo National Park and Lake Nakuru National Park? Lake Mburo National Park in Uganda and Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya are two parks named after the lakes in them and also some of the most visited parks in the East African region; one because of the flamingos and the other because of the zebras.

The interesting bit is that though lake mburo national park is smaller than Lake Nakuru national park, the lake itself lake mburo spans to up 50 sq kilometers in size as Lake Nakuru spans to 40 sq kilometers.

Lake Mburo National Park is the park in Uganda, nearest to the Ugandan capital Kampala, you get to it by road from Kampala about a 2 to 4-hour drive, depending on the traffic you face in the city Centre on your way to the park. Lake Nakuru National Park is a 4-to-5-hour drive from Kenya’s capital Nairobi; it’s a straight drive not quite a hard park to locate.

You can visit any of these parks in the year, definitely the dry seasons are the best and more popular for most safaris, but these parks receive visitors all year round both in the dry season and the wet or rainy season.
