Park entrance fees to Lake Mburo national park 2023/2024: Lake Mburo national park is one of the savannah national parks located in western part of Uganda in Kiruhura district. The park covers an area of 370 square kilometers and it’s a home of different wildlife species including buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, zebras, elands, impalas, oribi, topi, bushbucks, hippos, bush pigs, reedbucks, leopards, hyenas and over 350 bird species.

Park entrance fees are the fares that are charged by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to all visitors in order to access Lake Mburo national park and engage in different  park activities like Game drives, Boat cruise, horseback riding, guided nature walks, night game drives, sport fishing, bird watching among others. Park entrance fees are independent of package activities like boat cruise, bird watching, nature walks among others and all visitors will be required to present valid identification documents to confirm resident status and Covid-19 vaccination card.  A day’s entrance ticket to Lake Mburo national park is valid for twenty fur hours from time of entrance and extra time spent in the park after 24 hours will be charged as an extra day. Children are persons aged between 5-15 years and persons below the age of 5 years are exempt.

Adults

Foreign non residents are charged 40 USD per person, 30 USD per person for foreign residents and 20,000 UGX per person for East African citizens.

Children

Foreign non residents are charged 20 USD per person, 10 USD per person for foreign residents and 5,000 UGX per person for East African citizens.

Ugandan pupils and students in groups are charged 3,000 UGX per person, 5,000 UGX per person for tertiary institutions or universities and 2,000 UGX per person for East African citizens.

Annual park entrance passes

Annual park entrance pass applies to all protected areas for foreign residents in Uganda and East African citizens only and vehicle entrance is paid separately. Foreign residents require a work permit valid for one year to qualify for an annual entrance pass.

Individuals

Foreign residents are charged 350 USD per person and 350,000 UGX per person for East African citizens.

Couple

Foreign resident couple is charged 600 USD and 500,000 UGX for East African citizens.

Family (maximum of 4 children)

Foreign resident family is charged 800 USD and 600,000 UGX for East African citizens.

Annual corporate pass of 10 pax

Foreign non residents are charged 1,500 USD and 2,500,000 UGX for East African citizens

A safari guide is charged 200,000 UGX per person annual entrance fee and a taxi driver is charged 150,000 UGX annual entrance fee while tour company drivers are not charged.

Vehicle and boat entry fees are charged per 24 hours except for concessionaire visitor vehicles who will pay once per trip in the park. Rescue vehicles to be charged the same rate as other vehicles according to the vehicle classification.

Foreign resident construction equipment vehicle is charged 350 USD entry fee and 500,000 UGX for East African citizens.

East African school buses are charged 50,000 UGX and delivery vehicles are charges 20,000 UGX per entry.

Aircraft landing fees (per landing)

Aircraft parking fee per day is 10,000 UGX, landing fees excludes entry fees payable by passengers and pilots en-route do not pay entry fees if they spend less than 2 hours in the park.

Boat cruise in Lake Mburo national park takes approximately 2 hours, minimum boat charge for foreign non residents and foreign residents for a minimum of 4 persons is 120 USD and 120,000 UGX for East African citizens.
