Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Lake Mburo national park
After early morning breakfast, you will depart for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge/Kaliju in Queen Elizabeth National Park with your tracking gear.
During the tracking, you will slope down a gorge with sights of magical, lush, mature tropical forest, thriving below sea level, supporting counts of chimpanzees.
Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of the chimps is challenging but eventually encountering them gives a lifetime memory as you will find them rolling on tree branches and making pant hooting calls.
You will also spot the black and white Colobus monkeys and the olive baboons. The walk generally takes around 2‐5 hours.
After tracking, connect back to refresh at the lodge, then meet the drive and embark on a 4-hour drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
Connect to your lodge to have a restful evening, dinner and overnight at Mihinga lodge (Luxury), Rwakobo Rock (mid-range), or Eagles Nest lodge (budget)
